Fundraising for Catholic Charities
Market Day for Catholic Charities
September is traditionally known as Catholic Charities month in Adelaide. The focus for this month is to raise awareness and funds for the work of these supportive organisations such as Hutt St, Catherine House, SA Deaf Association, Calvary Ain Karim, St Patrick’s Special School, Our Lady of La Vang School, Aboriginal Catholic Ministries, Centacare and Calvary House of Welcome.
Students in Year 6 have spent the term integrating their learning in Religious Education and HASS – Business and Economics to develop an awareness of each of the charities mentioned above. From here they had to present this information to the other classes in the primary space and promote the fundraising stall or activity that they had developed. We had food stalls, Knock ‘Em Down games, Nerf shots at targets and so much more. The boys have worked hard on this topic and should be very proud of themselves and achieving their goal of raising money for the charities. The total amount of money raised was $1,026.10. What an amazing effort by all! Thank you to the whole community for your support.
(The donations amount includes money raised since 2015).
