St Joseph's School Barmera
St Joseph’s School in Barmera has a rich history which draws from the Josephite tradition.
We were founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1953 and staffed by the Sisters for 35 years. During this time, the school community developed a deep appreciation for the life and work of St Mary MacKillop, founder of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
These values underpin our School even today. The sisters' gifts in showing special concern and care for the poor and needy, the marginalised and the battlers in society are something we not only teach our students, they are something we show to our wider community.
In 1987, our first lay principal was appointed.
